About me
I design with behaviour first, business in mind, and AI as a tool.
Not just how screens look — but how people think, feel, and move.

Behaviour-driven UX
A designer who starts
with how people think
I'm Shivya Tripathi — a Product and UI/UX Designer who designs for clarity, behaviour, and real-
world use.
I come from a Computer Science background and have worked across four internships, designing
products that balance human behaviour, technical constraints, and business goals.
I don't approach design as screens-first. I start with how people think, where they hesitate, and
what helps them move forward without friction.

Building trust
through clarity
What shaped how I design
Whether it's digital or physical, I always ask: Is this task getting done easily, without frustration?
I used to think better design meant better UI. If something felt broken, I'd reach for colours, spacing
and visual polish. Sometimes it worked — often it didn't.
What actually changed my approach was real users. That curiosity shaped how I design today —
understanding why a decision exists before deciding how it should look.
Some of the most important design decisions I've made didn't happen on a screen.
During my internship, I independently led user testing with people from underserved communities
— many of whom weren't comfortable with English or digital products. My priority wasn't just
collecting feedback; it was making sure they felt safe, heard, and respected.
Instead of structured scripts, I focused on conversations. I adjusted my language, pace, and
questions in real time — explaining, listening, and reassuring when confusion surfaced.

My design process
Now, I don't design
until
I understand:
What behaviour the product is shaping
What emotion is blocking progress
What decision the user is struggling with
Every screen I design maps back to a behavioural outcome — not a visual
preference. Design, for me, is no longer about how things look, but about how
people move, feel, and decide.
Design that people
return to —
not just use once
Good design, to me, is successful when it creates an emotional connection.
When users feel understood, they return. When they return, products grow.
That's the lens I design through — balancing human behaviour, product goals, and technical
constraints. Not over-designing. Not over-engineering. Just intentional, thoughtful decisions that
help people move forward with ease.
Now that you know me
If you're building a product and care about how people think, feel, and move through it — I'd love to collaborate.
I'm open to full-time roles and meaningful projects where design is treated as a strategic function, not just decoration.
